Position Title: Seasonal Recreation Aide
Department: Sapulpa Parks & Recreation
Reports to: Recreation Director
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Salary: $13.65 per hour
FLSA: Hourly, Seasonal, Non-Exempt
Approx. 32 hours per week May-August
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Minimum 18 years of age by first day of employment.
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
- Possession of, or ability to readily obtain a First Aid/CPR/AED certification from a nationally recognized provider.
Desired:
- Graduation from a four-year high school or GED with three months working with children of various ages, preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Welcomes and assists visitors at Sapulpa Senior Center and Sapulpa Park Administration Offices
- Plans and facilitates organized programming, including game and sport activities, fields trips, and lunches out, for children, adults, and senior adults.
- Maintains Sapulpa Senior Center program, rental, and janitorial schedule.
- Performs office tasks such as collecting and sending mail, answering emails and telephone calls, making coffee for seniors, etc.
- Perform janitorial duties at Senior Center as needed, e.g., restocking paper products, setting up and taking down tables and chairs, cleaning and organization.
- Creates content for Sapulpa Parks social media channels, e.g., Facebook, Instagram

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Skill in:
- Facilitating recreational activities such as wellness/fitness, sports, arts and crafts, games, etc.
- Use of PC operating system, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Google apps
- Use of small office equipment, including copy machine and multi-line telephone
- Verbal and written communication
- Interpersonal and customer service
Knowledge of:
- Techniques used in the marketing of recreational programs
- Sapulpa Parks facilities and programs
- First aid and CPR methods
Ability to:
- Enthusiastically engage with members of the public and deal tactfully with others
- Promote Sapulpa Parks facilities and programs
- Proactively engage in games and recreational activities with children and adults, e.g. toss games, hula hooping, soccer-type games, jump roping
- Work independently
- Drive and operate a 15-passenger van
