Park and Recreation Operator - $14.92 per hour
Summary
This safety-sensitive position assists in the maintenance and mowing of the City’s Parks and Recreation area.
Essential Functions
Possess the skill set to maintain, construct and/or repair various facilities within the department.
Operate various equipment to maintain the park department facilities and properties.
Assist in setting up planned events in various Park facilities as needed.
Assist the public and provide information to promote good public relations.
Operate equipment, within scope of training and expertise, as needed to perform essential job duties.
Ability to take after hour calls on a periodic basis - standby

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This is a field position which the employee is exposed to extreme temperatures, potential overgrown nature areas and uneven surfaces.
Physical Demands
This is position requires mowing, weed eating, bathroom or other park facility repairs. Lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00a to 2:30p This schedule may vary if necessary.
Travel
Limited out-of town travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma and/or equivalent experience.
- One year of work experience, primarily in a manual labor environment
Preferred Education and Experience
- Two years equipment experience.
- Two years of related experience.
